Profile Martua Sitorus
Chief operating officer of Wilmar International, one of world's largest palm oil producers. Increased export tax and price controls in China caused 2010 net profit to drop 30%. Continued expansion, buying Sucrogen, Australia's largest sugar firm. Former economics student traded shrimp as a teenager, then switched to palm oil. Bought his first plantation in 1994. Later cofounded agribusiness Wilmar International with nephew of Malaysia's richest man, Robert Kuok. Merged Wilmar with the senior Kuok's plantation and agribusiness group in 2007. He still holds 10% of company's shares.
